We are a large central team of 28 engineers working on multiple projects in small groups of 3-5 dedicated members for each project. Since we are a single team, we are supposed to manage these sub-teams under single project but separate sprints. We are able to create multiple boards & a sprint for each sub-team. But we are unable to link a sprint with certain board and it is leading to huge confusion. Is there a way that a given scrum team (sub-team) can see their own issues and backlog and not see other sub-teams backlog while all sub-teams being under a single project.
Welcome to Atlassian Community.
You can have one single project for all teams and one single agile board, but you need a way to filter the issues of every team.
If you manage to do this, you could create quick-filters in your agile board for each team. And then, each team will activate their own quick filter on the board in order to visualize only their issues.
If you want separated sprints, it will be possible if you enable parallel sprints in your board configuration. But with this approach you can also have one sprint for all teams.
Hope this helps.

Hi @Venkatesh Sirpurker
I could suggest tracking work of sub teams on the timeline with a third-party app — Planyway for Jira.
Here you can connect multiple projects on one page and then group the timeline by teams.
Sprints can also be visible on the timeline.
When needed you can switch to the individual user timeline.

Hi Venkatesh,
Each sprint is tied to a specific board, and since you have multiple boards for different sub-teams, the best approach is to implement a custom field to designate the responsible team when an issue is created. You can either have users set this field manually or automate its population based on predefined criteria.
Once the custom field is in place, you can use it as a filter for each board’s query to ensure that only relevant issues appear.
For example, if you have three sub-teams: Team-1, Team-2, and Team-3, you should configure your boards as follows:
- Board for Team-1: Filter issues where custom_field = Team-1
- Board for Team-2: Filter issues where custom_field = Team-2
- Board for Team-3: Filter issues where custom_field = Team-3
This setup will allow each sub-team to see only their own issues and backlog while keeping everything under a single project. Let me know if you need further clarification.
Hope it helps!
