Lost all the projects after Jira auto update

Ketan Mehta May 2, 2018

Dear Support,

Monday morning Me and My Team tried to open the URL, instead of asking login and password, it is asking the account setup process.

Today i setup the account but i am not finding any option to import the old data and projects to system.

Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

Looking forward to your kind patronage.

Kind Regards

Ketan Mehta

What do you mean by "auto update"?

It looks like your administrators have installed a new Jira on the url you are using, so my guess is that they have tried an upgrade and got it wrong.

Hi Nic,

We didn't Install New Jira. Having said that, since Monday morning each time when I tried to open our Jira application URL, it prompted a Setup screen. Hence, we were forced to go through the setup steps.

Now, we see no projects under our account. Can your team help in getting the old data back?

We will greatly appreciate your patronage in this regards.

Kind Regards,
Ketan Mehta

So, what do you mean by "auto update"?

The Jira you are looking at went through the setup because it was pointed at an empty database.

Until you can work out where your old Jira was, and explain what an "auto update" is, there's not a lot we can do to help explain what has happened.
