Hello everybody :)
This Sunday I updated my JIRA 3.13 installation on macOS to JIRA 5.2 to JIRA 4.11 to JIRA 5.2 to JIRA Software 7.0.11 to JIRA Software 8.13.1.
It was and still is using the embedded database (H2) and the embedded webserver (Tomcat?).
On Monday I found that Unicode characters e.g. in comments seem to have been replaced by the character "" (question mark).
I found the Troubleshoot page and checked that ViewSystemInfo of my JIRA 8 says webwork.i18n.encoding is UTF-8. So at least this looks right. The rest was not helpful.
Do how have an idea if and how this can be fixed?
Hi Marcus,
these are a lot of version changes. Could you observe at which version change the issue was introduced?
H2 database is sometimes tricky - maybe the source is also there.
Overall this will be likely complicated to debug.

Daniel
Thanks for answering!
