Linking epics from different boards

In our organisation various teams use various boards to manage projects. Is it possible to link an epic from one board to another board. On the first board, we will work on the epic, on the second board we would only like to see the progress on the epic of the first board, without managing the epic itself on the second board (The second board could be "read only" for this particular epic.

If this is possible from Jira to Jira board. Is this also possible from Trello to Jira board?

Boards simply display cards based on the underlying filter for the board. So, can you have an Epic appear on both boards? Sure. Can you have the Epic appear on one board in one status and on another board in another status? Sure. That can be done by the filters or by the statuses mapped to the boards.
