Linked issue notifications

Hi, 

When i create linked issue in a ticket and assign the issue to a specific project and issue type, i would like the people in the project to receive the notification. I have added a specific group of users and tagged them to administrator and project watchers in users and roles. They still do not get notification saying that a ticket/linked issue is created. Could you please help. Thank you in advance

Hi @kousalya palagulla 

Adding a linked issue does not trigger an event (for notifications) in Jira.

You can however create an automation rule with trigger Issue linked where you specify the link type(s) and then use the Send email action to notify people.

@Dave Mathijs However, isn't this covered by the "Issue Updated" event in the notification scheme? I noticed that when an issue is linked to another ticket, the timestamp is updated, which should qualify as an update event for the issue. Despite this, Watchers do not receive a notification. Is this a known bug, or is it working as intended? Any insights?
