New user here so this may be a simple question. Is there a way to link a tasks due date to where it is in the workflow. Basically I want to set each step in the workflow a set amount of time to complete then the due date updates as it progresses through the workflow.
Also we are using releases to group or tasks. Can you link the release due date back to the individual tasks?
Thank You
QUick answer to question 2 - use "fix version" and add that fix version to every issue, including subtasks and epic and you will have everything linked to the release.
As for the due date - do you want to update the due date automatically so on dayt 15 it goes to status X and on day 25 the status becomes Y?
So we do link everything to fix version and we have start dates and end dates on the fix version.
Example of what I am trying to do -
Someone pulls a new task. We then tie it to a fix version based off when it will be rolled into a set release. However there are say 5 steps in the workflow. I am looking to tie the due date of those 5 steps to be based off the final due date of the fix version.
Step 1 - 4 months before fix version release
Step 2 - 3 Months before...
etc...

We do something similar with the steps but I took a different approach .. my epic has fields called dev start dev end test start test end etc type dates - and I set those up as part of the epic so that we know what dates the project needs to go through - then when we move to test, I change the due date same with uat etc. I am sure you can update the due date when you transition but since they are static - bulk editing dates may be a different option
