Hi there,
I was just wondering if it would be possible to create a Kanban board for only one issue within an existing project which is not defined as Kanban.
We've set up our Jira as follows:
* each Jira projects represents a certain client
* we create issues within the project (with or without subtastks, depending on the requirements) for each todo the client provides
So it really is a setup with fairly low complexity.
Since a Kanban solution would suit a complex website relaunch including multiple subtasks better, I was wondering if it would be somehow possible to create a Kanban board for only ONE issue within this existing project.
As far as I know Kanban is only possible for whole projects and changing our project setup would mess up our entire workflow.
I'm thankful for every guess!
Thanks heaps,
Ronja
Hi Ronja - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Kanban can be as complicated or as simply as you want it to be. In it's most simple form the board is basically 3 columns with To Do, Doing, Done. Those are the statuses that are in the workflow for that project.
What type of project have you already created for each client? Classic Software? Next-gen?
Let's start there and move forward as we get answers.
Hello @Ronja ,
Typically when creating a project you can select a template that will also set up a Kanban or Scrum board that will show everything in a project.
For Classic Software projects, it is also possible to set up additional boards that are based on saved filters rather than an entire project. In that case you can create a Search Filter to retrieve just the subtasks associated to the one issue, save that filter, and then create a Kanban board for it.
If you are using a different type of project, I'm not sure if you can create that sort of custom Kanban board.
