I currently have the installed versions of Jira and Confluence but I am interested in using the Jira Studio with Google apps for business.
My main concern with Jira Studio is the lack of offsite backup for customer data.
I understand I can request a back up of my data from the link on this page: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRASTUDIO/Data+Backups
Is there a way i could request a daily or at least weekly back up of my data?
Alternatively, is there any further information that would put my mind at ease about disaster recovery with Jira Studio?
Hi Michael,
We don't currently provide on demand backups of Studio due to the complexity of conditioning, (or as we call it "destudiofying"), the data. We will assist with generating usable XML backups for standalone instances if you have a pending cancellation of a paid-subscription JIRA Studio account. We recognise that offsite backups remain a concern for our customers and we are investigating the possibility for implementing them, however the data center where we host our customers' instances is a state of the art facility with first class data protection protocols so it would take an absolutely huge incident, (think the recent Japanese tsunami or a massive earthquake), for there to be any risk that your data could be compromised. You can find more about the data center that is housing your data here: http://www.contegix.com/infrastructure/datacenter.php
All the best,
John
In a side note, we plan to deliver a customer facing export feature by October :)

Could I get an update/more info on this?
The only thing holding me back from moving to Jira Ondemand is the backup issue mentioned above.

This issue is being tracked at https://studio.atlassian.com/browse/JST-5677
It's been pushed back to next the early part of 2012.
