I am the Jira site-admin for my company. There is a board that a project owner wanted to share with other jira-users in the organization. But the board is not accessible to the users and myself. It appears to be set to PRIVATE

Looking at other solutions provided here; I changed the ownership of the board's filter to myself, but I am still not able to access it. Can you help please?

Hi @Mikias Mohamed

Has the Project Owner tried increasing the board shares?

A board is just a visualised filter - so if the Project Owner had the filter set to be visible to only themselves - only they'll see it and anyone else who clicks a link to it will see it as not existing.

They can increase the filter shares from the board's config:

  • Select Board > Configure > General
  • Press Edit Filter Shares
  • Add Viewers - such as any logged in user, a group or a project
  • Press Add and Save
