Jira service desk plugins are disabling automatically

Niveditha December 14, 2018

Hello,

Our Jira version is 7.3.0

Some service desk plugins are disabled automatically in Jira add-on s and left side bar contents are missing in service desk project .  Are These 2 issues related? What do we need to fix the issue?

Uninstalling the service desk application and reinstall it, will fix the issue? If this will help, any back up required before uninstalling the service desk?

Does these disabled plugins will effect the startup and performance of Jira server?

Please let me know if any other workaround for this issue. Thanks!

Regards,

Niveditha

If service desk plugins are disabled, that would explain the sidebar problems that only appear in Service Desk projects.  I am not confident that uninstalling and reinstalling will fix it.  I recommend following this KB:  JIRA application does not start due to disabled bundled plugin

You could have one or more plugin disabled that is preventing Service Desk from working correctly.  You can follow that guide to try to re-enable them.  However these problems usually happen because either the plugin is incompatible with that version of jira, OR the system does not have sufficient resources to load the plugin in a timely manner.  If the problem is the latter, then it might help to follow increasing Jira memory.  Those steps will allow you to give the JVM running Jira more memory.
