Jira no longer links new branch created in jira issue to the jira issue

ARF ENG October 18, 2021

In the past when I would create an issue in Jira then create a branch in the issue, I would see a link to the newly created branch in the issue. Now I can create an issue and create a new branch but the issue does not show a link to the newly created branch, I can only see the link to 'Create Branch.' How do I make Jira add the link to the new branch, to the issue?

Thanks

Hello @ARF ENG,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Testing on my local site, I wasn’t able to replicate this issue. When creating a branch on a ticket that has no branches, after refreshing the ticket, it will show the option to click on it to view the details:

When did this issue start?

Was there any change with the Bitbucket integration on your site?

Kind regards,
Angélica

Hello Angelica,

The issue started after I changed ownership of the repos. I finally figured it out. On the left of the Jira projects there is a list of the code repos. When you hover the pointer over (but don't click) the repo in the list a little circular arrow icon will appear. Now if you click on the circle arrow icon it will ask if you want to link the repo, The it takes you through a few more menus but at the end everything was linked back up.update button.png
