From time to time, when I go to another tab in my browser, then back to Jira, it goes 'back'.
Since I'm not 100% sure where to, I'm not going to claim I know.
Either a history.go(-1) type of back, or simply their own navigation path back - I've no idea.
However, the result is that it either closes the open ticket, or goes back to an earlier one.
It's mighty annoying, only started a month or two back.
Is there anything to do?
p.s.
this is not my main account. I could not use that one to log in here, for some reason it claims to have sent the login code but it's not coming. Yay for 2fa where it's absolutely unnecessary.
p.p.s
due to the above I cannot start a support request either.
Hi Joe,
This is almost certainly browser behavior and not Jira. Try with Incognito or Private window mode or try a very different unrelated browser. Often times it is Extension that have been added to the browser that are causing this.
Did you try any of my suggestions? I have never seen or heard of this happening in Jira, so I am 110% sure it's the browser. :-)

Same here.
For Atlassian tools, I use at least a couple of different browsers, because sometimes Firefox, Chrome, or Edge can cause issues with Jira or Confluence after their updates.
Having another browser available often makes troubleshooting much easier.
Try That. Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox | Firefox Help
If the problem does not occur in this mode, it is almost certainly browser-related.
If it still happens there, then it may be specific to this browser on your setup, for example due to extensions, cache, profile settings, or local configuration.

It is most likely this issue: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-96176
But this has been closed by Atlassian. But I can still reproduce it in Firefox and Chrome

Yep, there are still some comments saying this is still happening.

Hello @Joe
Have you tried another browser ?
Try opening Jira in an incognito window with your extensions turned off to see if it stops. Also, check if your browser has "sleeping tabs" or a memory saver enabled, sometimes those force the page to reload weirdly right when you switch back to the tab.
For the login code issue on your main account, check your spam folder or ask your IT team if a company security filter is blocking Atlassian's automated emails. If you have a backup recovery key away somewhere, you should use it.
Best
Arkadiusz

No, this is the browser I'm using for everything - it's the latest Firefox, so it should not be a blackbox or a rarity.
I've got UO installed, but I've tried turning it off on Jira - to no avail.
I'd need to use the other browser extensively, since this does not *always* happen. That I do not want to do, I've got too many things I need all the time in bookmarks & pinned tabs.
