Jira has started to change the file name and remove file extensions from attachments when they're downloaded (file name is changed to 'original (1)'). If the file extension is manually re-added to the document after download ie. .pdf, .png then the file behaves as it should, however it retains the 'original (1)' file name. We've not had this issue before, however it appears as though there was an update in the last few days which may be causing the issue?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Pia,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
It looks like you're running into an existing bug, which can be found here:
Please be sure to watch it, so that you are notified when this is fixed in a future release.
Also, on the bug, there is a workaround to fix the issue for now.
If you have any other question, please let us know.
Regards,
Angélica
Thanks Angélica

Hi Angélica, my team has experienced this issue on our account between 8/15/19 and 8/30/19, despite the fact that the bug has been listed as "fixed". This seems to suggest that it is not fully fixed for all users. I would appreciate your team taking another look at the issue and informing me on further resolutions. I have disabled the New Jira Issue View for now as the suggested workaround and left a comment on this task in the hopes that it will be addressed.
Thank you.
