So, I am trying to create Jira service for my personal use. I created another organization for my personal use, I want to create Jira in the personal organization. However, I can only create the Jira service management, but Jira.

The work I am doing is software development. And the Jira is for my personal use. I think the connect between the ticket system with the Github would be useful at some points.

So, how is this thing work? or each account can only have 1 free Jira in 1 organization

Hello @MJQ

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

What steps did you execute to create another Organization?

Typically if you go to https://atlassian.com and start a Jira product subscription from there it will create a new Organization under which that subscription will be deployed.

Or were you within the https://admin.atlassian.com site and within the Products list for your pre-existing Organization, and selected Add Product?

Can you share any screen images of what you are seeing when you find you are not able to add Jira? Are you sure you are in the new Organization and not the original Organization for your company?

Additionally, if you are trying to set this up for personal use, entirely separate from the work you do for your company, I would strongly advise you to make sure you are logged into Atlassian Cloud under your personal email address rather than an email address assigned by your company. If you leave your company and they deactivate your email, you could lose access to your personal Jira subscription.

Hi @MJQ , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your post.

You can only have one instance of each product per organization (unless you are at the enterprise tier).

You can create another Jira instance, as a site, in the same organization.

https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/how-many-instances-of-a-product-does-my-organization-need/

If you look at the documentation here^, you can see that it is possible to have multiple instances of the same product in one organization because you can have them at different tiers, like free / standard / premium, notice that the different instances of Confluence have different addresses because they are different sites / instances within the same organization.

You should be able to follow these instructions to create a new site for another instance of the product Jira - https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/add-a-new-product-to-your-organization/

Please write here if you are still stuck or need more help.

Cheers

Hello @MJQ

From my experience, Jira allows only one free instance per account.

If you’ve already set up a Jira Software instance under another organization, additional Jira setups might require a paid subscription.

Alternatively, explore whether you can manage both personal and professional projects under one organization with proper configurations and permissions.
