I see that Jira offers a free version for up to 10 users. We are moving to Cloud, currently on Server, but I am wanting to sign up for Jira for myself only so I can be more familiar with Cloud once we migrate over. My question is, do you know if the free version would allow me to act like an admin?
I am wanting to create workflows, statuses, etc...
In addition to what @Laurie Sciutti and @Jack Brickey have, a key thing not available in the Free plan is everyone with access is a product admin, you can't set project roles, and you can't set issue security.

Hi @Jason Chayer ~ yes, the free version does allow you to create workflows, etc. like a normal admin. There are some restrictions to functionality (like Plans and Sandbox access, among others), but the standard Jira Admin functionality is available.

Thanks @Laurie Sciutti
This helps. I am mainly wanting to see layout, how to change/implement workflows, etc...
As mentioned, we will be moving to cloud soon. So, I am just going to sign myself up with a free account to get a good feel for it.
Thanks.

Permissions is the other one people find quickly - they're fixed on Cloud free (still add and remove users from roles, but you can't change what permissions a role gets)

Yes. In Free all users (up to 10) will be admin. With that said, there are a number of differences in the free version and the standard and even more so premium versions. So keep in mind that you won't be able to test out all features or capabilities.
