Hi,

We are experiencing one huge problem in Jira Cloud when trying to attach some files. Two members from the design team tried to attach a file and it not only failed, but the file was deleted from their computers.

The files were about 40-60Mb and in both cases they were using Opera, I don’t know if this fact is correlated. Anyone had the same problem? Is there any way to restore the files, or they are gone for good?

Jira is a service that runs on a server remote from the client.  It has no control over the client machine other than via the browser.

There is no way for Jira to even suggest the client machine delete any local files.  If the files are being deleted, they are being deleted by something on the user's machines.  It might be Opera, but, like other browsers, I don't believe it tries to delete files other than its own temporary work files.

As for recovering them, it depends on how they were deleted, you'll need to identify what is deleting them and whether it drops them into some form of (recoverable) trash can or not.
