Currently we have automations with webhooks to have all zendesk tickets comment on our Jira tickets.
We want any regular comment made on a ticket in Jira to make a comment on Zendesk.
We do have the Zendesk integration installed but we dont want the user to have to comment through the integration but just on the ticket itself. Helps us minimize steps to communicate with support.
I've looked all over though I don't know if this is possible. I figure an automation that makes a request but i was curios if anyone has ran into a use case like this and or has any information that could help with such a specific use case. Looking through Zendesks API, I dont see a route for just making comments on a ticket.
This is Majid @ Exalate.
If I understood this correctly, this should work out of the box with our integration app Exalate. Please take a look at this use case video (at the bottom of the page) and hopefully it gives you some ideas.
Thanks
Majid
Im able to do this by make an api call to zendesk. However the difficult part now is getting the zendesk ticket number automatically to populate a field in Jira.

Hi @Michael Corrigan , can you share how you did it via API call to zendesk?
