To be able to have a JIRA calendar similar to outlook where a task can be placed in the description box for a future date i.e. 4/29/2021; and on 04/29/2021 an alert will appear as a reminder task(s) needs to be completed.

You don't need a calendar to get that same functionality. You should be able to use a filter and attach a subscription to it to email you on the Due Date.
Or you can use an add-on like Automation for Jira (free Lite version and a paid Pro version) or ScriptRunner to send you an email on the Due Date.
