Jira as SSL Client with Certificate

Richard Tallini October 15, 2018

Greetings Folks,

My company's LDAP directory requires a bind to occur over SSL using a client certificate.  I looked at many documents but was unable to specifically find one related to this.  Has anyone had this need before?  If so, how were you able to solve it?

Just to be clear, I am not looking for a method for the client to authenticate , I am looking to get my Jira server to authenticate to my LDAP server as a client to be able to sync the directory.  As I said above, this bind requires the Jira server to have it's own SSL Certificate to present for authentication.

Thanks!
~Rick

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the response, however I believe this is not exactly what I am looking for.  Fortunately for me client certificate authentication to our directory provider is no longer a requirement (YAY Less Hoops!!)  So I am just going to accept your answer even though in my case, it was not 100% the answer I needed.

That being said, I think the doc about the keystore might be a step in the right direction

Thanks

~Rick
