Jira Upgrade from 8.15 to 8.17

Hi There,

I'm newbie in performing managing atlassian tools.

We are planning to upgrade our Jira from 8.15 to 8.17 version or later. I'm in search of Jira upgrade to perform this task. 

Can we do direct upgrade to 8.17 ? or it has to 8.15 to 8.16 then to 8.17 ?

You can upgrade from any version of the Jira application from 8 to 9. Upgrading from 8.x to 9.x triggers full Jira reindex that causes some downtime during the process. If you’re on 8.x now, make sure you’ve estimated the downtime and set the best time for the upgrade.

I would start at the upgrade matrix page to see if the platforms you run Jira on are still supported and then go from there.

You can uprade directly to 8.17, no need to install every version between needed releases.

But maybe it's better to install 8.20.23?

Its latest LTS release for 8 version
