I noticed that now I can not create Swimlanes trough Board Settings. Does it the same for you? Now, there is only the option for columns. Is there a way to return them back? What concerns me is Jira documentation which still has the article on Jira swimlanes set the old way. Please help!
Swimlane configuration options can differ between project types. If you're using a Team-Managed project, some advanced board settings like swimlanes might not be available or are configured differently compared to Company-Managed projects.

Hi @Mary from Planyway ,
Another thing worth mentioning here (at least it enlightened me when I was preparing for one exam) is that swimlanes are casually being 'replaced' by Group by feature directly on the board view.
Although I've checked a couple of instances we manage and in each, there's still Swimlanes tab under board settings (if we're talking about company-managed projects).
Cheers,
Tom

If you want to use queries, it seems you need to configure them in the old swimlane tab. Then you can use them with the group by filter.

As @Tomislav Tobijas _Koios_ mentions, this is happening.
I noticed when using this "new" feature on the board, the swim lane function in the board config will not work anymore.
The only solution then is to create a new board, swiml anes will work, until anyone with access to the board uses the group by function, then the same issue is back.
