We have tried demo versions of both the JIRA software server solution and the JIRA software cloud solution and found that the UIs are different. We like the server solution UI over the cloud solution UI because the out of the box configs. Several of our developers also have previous experience with the server version UI. Here are our questions:
1. Is it possible that the cloud solution can have the UI of the server based solution since they appear to be quite different?
2. If it is not possible, are there any recommendations of how multiple remote users can have access to the JIRA software server solution?
3. Can the server version support mobile application?
@Frede Welcome to the Community!
My understanding on the UI is that you cannot use the old UI on cloud anymore, I welcome someone to tell me I am incorrect on this. I work in both server and cloud and the cloud UI is some what more cumbersome to use than the UI for server.
With the remote users, for our server instance, we have people VPN to the company network and browse to the Jira URL, used on the internal network.
The server version does had mobile client capability. It has been a few months since I looked at it. It is functional, but it isn't going to be as robust as working with the product being on a proper computer. It is good if you are just checking comments or moving an issue to a different status, but I wouldn't want to have to heavily edit issues or look for information. If you set up your project with tabs on the screens, they all become one big list in Mobile, and the fields don't display in the same order as defined in the project.
Here is some information on the Mobile client for Jira Server and Jira Data Center.

You need to talk to your network and security folks about remote access. All you need is an public facing URL that can connect to the server and open ports. It isn't a JIRA question per se.
