Jira Software, Jira Product Discovery and Admin Panel
Hello time!
With the end of the JPD Beta phase, we identified the need to question users about their real need for access, as many have access to Jira Software and JPD, and they do not necessarily need both.
A great difficulty for users is to clearly and objectively identify the difference between both, Jira SOftware and Jira Discovery, so I come to ask for help with the following questions:
1. What is Jira Software and what is it for?
2. What is Jira Product Discovery and what is it for?
3. What are the core functions of each tool? Troubleshooting? Project management? Workflow? Scrum? Kanban?
4. Generally speaking, what can I do with JPD that I can't do with Jira Software, or vice versa?
Now, regarding the licensing of the products.
Currently, in the users' Administration panel, we don't have the possibility to invite a person as a Contributor for JPD or Observer for Jira Software. All invitations made by Board administrators result in a seat with a "full" license, and the invitee will not act as a Creator/Editor on the Board.
5. What do we have to do to have access to these roles, Contributor (JPD) and Observer (Jira Software) in our Admin Panel?
6. Can a person who does not have a JPD license have access to projects as a Contributor?
The invite guests option only allows us to grant access to Confluence, is that correct?
