We received this message this morning for 1,000+ users on Jira for several minutes. There showed no downtime on Atlassian Status - but we were blocked from using our Jira instance for a good 15+ minutes from what we can see. Who at Atlassian can explain what happened - and how to prevent it in the future from happening?
Random access/maintenance windows are incredibly unsettling.
Hi @Jeff Ostrowski,
I created a support ticket on your behalf - CES-170785, you should be receiving email communications soon.
Best,
Anastasiia
Hello and welcome to Community @Jeff Ostrowski
As Enterprise customer you are entitled to extended support so I flagged this Post to get attention from Somebody at Atlassian.
Based on my experience with larger instances, unexpected maintenance can sometimes occur. Atlassian is actively working to minimize these occurrences and usually schedules them during off-peak hours.
I'm not sure why this happened in your case, unfortunately. Only Atlassian will be able to tell you for sure.
Just a friendly reminder that this is a community forum. We all use the same tools, so unfortunately, we can't see your internal setup.
Best,
Arkadiusz

Also, a small detail: the location used is based on the user's registered app. If their timezone indicates it's 3:00-4:00 AM (outside typical work hours), that could be why maintenance is happening.
