Hi,

I need to find out out following using JIRA tool.
1) With respect to complete defect life cycle in JIRA how we can segregate the responsibilities for different users like JIRA admin,Test Lead,Dev Lead, Developer,Tester etc.2) In a KANBAN board I want to see all projects current status, like project 1 is in SIT stage,project 2 is in requirement gathering phase etc.

Kindly guide.

Regards

@Nilesh Deshmukh

To your first question, the answer is ignore system groups entirely e.g jira admin and instead focus on your roles since the are per project.

Create roles that match your requirements and add the respective users to these roles.

For your second question I will advise against it as it does not scale. Each time you open your board, each project will supply all issues in them to the board which can become system intensive.(unless you meant issues when you said project). Note that projects also have no status and Jira only shows data based on issues.

Now if you meant issues, you should configure your board to contain columns that map properly with each status you have.

  1. From your board, click Board and select configure.
  2. Click column on the left hand panel.
  3. add new columns to what’s displayed (make sure it has same name as your statuses)
  4. map your statuses to the columns.
