Jira DC Show when empty

Quick question here, team,

Does the show when empty feature, on Data Center and Cloud, only works for custom fields and not system fields like Due Date?

... which is applicable to the Data Center product, the "Show when empty" toggle is stated to apply to custom fields. It does not say explicitly that it does not apply to system-supplied fields, but you might infer that.

I don't see a "Show when empty" option on the Screen configuration screen in Jira Cloud. In the Layout option (within Space Settings) there is a "Hide when empty" section. Fields placed in that section are hidden when empty and display when not empty. If you want an empty field to display all the time then you drag the field above the "Hide when empty" line.
