I have a Jira cluster that its time sync is off, but the ubuntu 18.04 servers are reporting correct times from NTP & sync.d services when i run the command "timedatectl". What the possible reasons that a Jira cluster would fall out sync, but not hosting servers?
Database time is not sync'ed maybe?

we had our devs check the DB and they replied with the following " Database time is set via DHCP Option sets which is mapped to the same NTP servers as the Jira nodes are pointed to. There cannot be inconsistency if the NTP servers are same in the cluster and please correct me if I am wrong."
Now i do understand my devs statement, but if the hosting server orginally never where correctly configured to sync with NTP server and they are. Would that mean the the jira was built on unsynced environment? which i believe would cause a time sync drift and if long enough went by could this cause permit damage?
Also, any other possibilities you could think of would be great
