Hi team,
I have a question regarding Jira Cloud Guest Users and Marketplace apps.
If a Guest User is added to an Atlassian group that grants permissions within a Marketplace app, will the Guest User be able to access and use the app's functionality according to those permissions?
Are there any platform-level restrictions, licensing considerations, or known limitations that Marketplace app vendors should be aware of when supporting Jira Cloud Guest Users?
Additionally, is there any guidance from Atlassian on whether Marketplace apps are expected to fully support Guest Users, or does support depend on how each app implements permissions and access controls?
Thanks!
Hello and Welcome to Atlassian Community @choplal_sharma
Yes/No, concept works similiar to Confluence Cloud Guest
Jira guests can access Marketplace apps that explicitly support guest access, but only within the context of their single assigned space.
If an app feature requires global permissions or reads data outside that specific space, the guest will still be blocked. For Marketplace vendors, it is critical to test guest behavior across both company-managed and team-managed spaces.
PS: At the end Acces depend always on Specific Vendor implementation.
Best,
Arkadiusz🤠
