Jira CSV Import Failing - Status "To Do" Not Found in Project SCM-MTP PRODUCTION

Hello,

We are facing an issue while importing issues into our Jira Cloud project SCM-MTP PRODUCTION.

Problem:

CSV:

Summary	Description	Work Type	Priority	Status
Login issue	Unable to login to SCM portal	Defect	High	Open
Invoice mismatch	Invoice total incorrect in report	Defect	Critical	Open

During CSV/Excel issue import, Jira shows the below error:

Error in issue status "to do" — not found in target Jira project "SCM-MTP PRODUCTION"

Important Observations:

1. Our import file does not contain any Status value as "To Do".

2. We also removed the Status column completely, but Jira still throws the same error.

3. When creating a new issue manually in the project, the issue is created successfully with status Open.

4. Current workflow statuses in the project are:

   • Open

   • Start Progress

   • Stop Progress

   • Resolve Issue

   • Close Issue

Request:

It appears Jira import process is internally referencing old/default status To Do during import.

Please help us identify:

1. Where "To Do" is being picked during import

2. How to reset/import correct status mapping

3. How to make importer use current initial status Open

Be advised that since this is a community of mostly users of the Atlassian products, we don't have access to look at your system directly. So we will have to ask you questions to get more information and then offer you advice.

What are the exact steps you used to try to import this data?

What options did you click to navigate to the importer?

Once in the import wizard, what settings and options did you select as you stepped through the import wizard?

Can you provide a screen image that shows the workflow diagram for the project?

What is the project type into which you are trying to import the data? You can get that information from the Type column on the View All Spaces page or by clicking on the ... button next to the Space name in the navigation panel on the left and reviewing the last two lines shown in the pop-up.

Hi @Trudy Claspill , I uploaded CSV from settings->system->import through external system-> Selected my project and then uploaded CSV. below is my WF diagram.
