We are planning a upgrade Jira 8.0.2 hosted on RHEL 6, looking forward to upgrade to 8.3.  Atlassian documentation i do not find what is the suitable CentOS/RHEL version OS i need for Jira 8.3.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/supported-platforms-938846830.html

Could you please give your inputs ?

@saisrinivaskondreddyJira is java based application so Atlassian prefer not to announce OS version compatibility.

Things you need to care about,

  • OS has/support JAVA 8 or Java 11
  • Contains compatible database version

On side note, Atlassian provide two types of distributions for Linux,

  • Binary Installer (this they only test on CentOS),
  • Archive File/Manual Installer (.tar.gz), which works for all platforms.
