Hello,
Oracle will change the license for Java in January 2019. Have we to pay for the use of Java in our Jira-Installation in 2019?
Sincerely,
Tim Kühnel

Hi @[deleted],
Here is an article about java 11 and there are also some faq.
I think, you can either switch to openJDK, stay with Oracle Java without updates or stay with Oracle Java with updates. In the last case, you will need a subscription from Oracle.
I also asked for someone from Atlassian have a look here.
The oracle JDK looks quite expensive. I’m not sure who is their target market.

It looks like the article Bastian linked to has been removed. But instead try the link https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Agile-articles/Java-11-OpenJDK-support-update-for-Server-and-Data-Center/ba-p/967836
This is an update our product management team has been working on in regards to the changes coming in our Server line of products.
In short, our server products will start also supporting AdpotOpenJDK in addition Oracle Java. If you do not intend to install new versions of Oracle JDK, nor seek support from Oracle, then you won't actually need to pay for a server license for these older versions currently installed.
