JIRA is failing to launch over HTTPS

“ Jira is failing to launch when attempting to run JIRA applications over HTTPS by configuring Apache Tomcat with HTTPS. Atlassian JIRA service is crashing when ‘HTTP and HTTPS’ or ‘HTTPS’ is configured, however it works ok when configured to use HTTP. Have tried a number of the steps suggested in the article below around the server.xml file, however the issue persists.
