JIRA cloud app updates in slack thread when transition made to card in slack but not when in JIRA

Using JIRA cloud app & Slack

We have a problem around the following situation:

- we create a bug card from our slack thread

- we transition card to in progress using the jira cloud app in the slack thread

    - at this point we see jira cloud app post an update displaying the status change

- if we make a change to the card in JIRA software itself, there is no reflection of this change in the slack thread or the jira cloud app widget.
