JIRA assigns subtasks reporters to a person who did not open the parent ticket

I have a parent ticket that was opened by Person A. When the status changes to "in-progress," a subtask is automatically created. I can assign these subtasks to different individuals based on the subtask type, but the reporter is still showing as the project owner instead of parent ticket owner. How can I assign the reporter of the subtask to be the parent ticket owner instead? Thanks!

If you navigate to the subtask directly are you able to manually update the Reporter field to another user?
