JIRA and confluence upgrade

Hi Team,

We have high severity security vulnerability in multiple product versions.  We need to upgrade our applications as we are using JIRA, JIRA Service Management, and Confluence. Atlassian recommends that we upgrade to the latest version .

 All our addons are compatible JIRA 8.20.1 and Confluence 7.14.1, but after upgrading DB is not supporting to current version.  First we have upgrade the DB first before doing the application upgrade, its also showing the error, so we should upgrade the DB after the jira and confluence upgrade ? Could you please suggest us. Please find the attached screenshots for your reference.

Please upgrade DB first make sure that it is working properly by connecting it to the applications. Once everything seems good, then proceed with applications upgrades.

You don't want to upgrade DB and Application at the same time. In case there is a problem you won't know which of the 2 is the root of it.

Also try everything is a test environment.
