JIRA NewGen - Test Sub Task

Hi All,

I am a PO currently using JIRA NewGen to manage my projects/sprint

When taking estimates for Dev & test on JIRA classic, I had a 'Test Sub-task' where I would add the test estimate

Is there a way to split dev and test estimates in JIRA new gen? Can you auto link a sub task to an issue type? I was thinking you could use the Story Point estimate for Dev estimates and have a test sub task where I can add the test estimate

Can anyone advise if this is possible or suggest an alternative way of doing this?

Hi @Mike Brown,

Welcome to the Community!

I think you have a few options and its really going to depend on how you want to try and solve this issue.  In Next-Gen projects you can sub-task issue types and you can define custom fields per issue type that you could make a "Test Estimate" field on a "Test Sub-Task" issue type if that will give you what you are looking for.
