I am wondering if the REST API incurs any additional costs. Is it plan dependent? Are there also any max limits to how many times you can send a request?
Use of the REST API does not incur additional cost.
There are limits to how many can be made in a time period. This is not a simple declarative limit such as "no more than X api calls in Y minutes". You can read about the Rate Limiting here:
