JIRA Automation copying the EPIC from one project to another when creating an issue

Deleted user October 31, 2021

Firstly I performed an export from the source project and then import into the target project to create the list of epics for the projects.

Then I was unsuccessful in cloning a custom issue type from one project to another but have managed to create a new issue in the target project and then do a clone link back the original issue.

What I have not been able to do is link the new target issue to the new target Epic.

Have I gone about this the wrong way or is there another trick I can't figure out?

Hi @[deleted]

This appears to be a global/multi-project scope rule.  Is that correct?

Would you please show the details of your edit action?  To link an issue to the epic, you normally set the Epic Link field of the child item (your trigger issue).

If that is not what you are trying to do, would you please clarify your use case?  Thanks!

Kind regards,
Bill

This is what I get when I try to copy the epic name hoping that it will pick up the target ID.
