Hi Team,
I'm using a simple built-in automation rule. However, when I commit with the issue key in the commit message. This rule does not get triggered. Could you please help to share what could have gone wrong and if there's anything that needs to be done on our side to get it working?

It might be a simple as checking the box for the Allow rule trigger in the Rule details for the rule.
Check the box, save it and publish it. Then refresh and try again.
Hi @Vaibhav , welcome to the community and thanks for your question.
I would recommend two things to get you started on trying to understand why the Automation isn't working.
First, in the Jira issue, there should be a section in the Details tab for Automation -
Here, you can validate if the issue passed the rule condition and if it was successful -
If that looks good, we need to also check the Audit log for the Automation rule
If you click on the hyperlink for the "Recent rule executions", you should enter directly into the Automation rule.
From there, if you click on the "Audit log" and "Show more" options, we can see that by creating an issue, the trigger criteria was met and therefore a comment was made in the log -
Looking at this two places for the configuration and execution results should help you understand better how the rule is set up to work or where a modification might be required. If you need more help, please just add to this post. Cheers

Hi @Valerie Knapp , thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I neither see any updates in the Audit Log nor Recent rule executions. Basically, the automated rule is not even getting triggered.
Just to confirm, is Gitlab connection in the ToolChain required with all the repositories in accessible from the <>Code section?
On the gitlab side, we just have the basic Jira integration setup. Is there any additional settings required? for. e.g Jira development panel integration ?

Hi @Vaibhav , unfortunately I don't know that much about the config side of Gitlab with Jira but maybe these links could help you -

Maybe @John Funk has some more specific advice.

Hey everyone, thank you for your responses. Unfortunately, I'm still looking through vendor documents, to resolve this issue. Until then, I will keep this ticket open just so that some community member might be able to assist in the resolution. Thank you!

I would open a support ticket directly with the vendor and have them help instead of you just combing through their support docs.
