JIRA API

Hello,

Actually, i'm trying to connect Jira to anther tool of dashboarding but i have the error bellow :

The security certificate for this connection is not trusted. This means we can not rely on this certificate for identity information. Normally, sites will send trusted identification to prove that you are connecting to the right server. In this case, the site's identity could not be verified. For more information, go to the Klipfolio Help Center.

I got in touch with the tool's support (Klipfolio) and they asked me to contact Jira support because apparently i have a problem with my Domain Name.

Did someone faced this kind problem ?

Ps: I have an Admin Account but I don't have Licence détails in my Atlassian account.

Best regards.

Rim

Ok, so they're getting valid certificates installed?

Thank you Nic.

I contacted the team who is concerned with Jira administration and they told me that connexion was not established because of specific safety requirements linked to our company. I hope that this problem will be resolved soon

To identify which problem it is, you probably need to read the detailed logs from the browser and Klipfolio to see what the root problem is.  Maybe use SSLPoke to try the connection and get more information about what Jira is serving up.

But I would take the faster route of checking the usual causes first:

  • Check the Jira server's date is correct
  • Check the certificate Jira is using is not expired
  • Check that Jira is using a certificate that is signed by a certificate authority recognised by Klipfolio

Ok, this basically means that your Jira has not been set up with SSL properly.  The usual culprits are:

  • The server's date is wrong
  • The certificate used to run Jira over SSL has expired
  • The certificate used to run Jira over SSL is not recognised by the system you are connecting with.  This happens when you have not used a certificate authority known to the client system. (most common cause is "self signed" certificates)

I saw this error while trying to connect the two tools (jira and Klipfolio) in klipfolio interface. It's not me who set up SSL in jira

Where are you seeing this error?  How have you set up SSL in your Jira?
