JIRA 7.3.3 Timeout issue

I am getting this error "you have been logged out because you have not used jira for approximately 5 hours"

in conf/web.xml it is 30 and in ./atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/web.xml it is 300.

Please advise how can i fix it. This error comes after 5 minutes

Your question is not clear for me but let me try do my best.

In normal conditions, your Jira application configuration overrides the tomcat, so here 300 minutes (5 hours) should override 30 minutes. 

But, as far as I understood, you're getting timeout after 5 minutes but the error message says 300 minutes. Did you try changing conf/web.xml to 300 also? Just to make sure.

Now i have both values set as 300 but still user complained about early sign out. Any other thing i can do?

Are you using Confluence with Jira? If yes, is Confluence installed in the same server?

We do not have Confluence installed on the server

Is it intermittent or does it happen all the time? 

And is everyone having this issue or some users?
