Hello,
I have a project in Jira that includes many "Associated Project Components". When a user creates a new Jira issue for this project they are given the option of selecting one of the components to associate their issue with.
The problem is that even after selecting an Associated Project Component, when I view the list of "Components" for this project all of the "Issues" counts remain 0 for all components.
Any idea what might cause this issue? Currently we are using a custom field "Associated Project Components", so I wasn't sure if there's something special that Jira does for the default fields that could be the fix for this issue. Thank you.

Hello,
You should use the out of the box Component field. What is the Associated Project Components field? What is the type of the field?
It does sound like you are looking at two different fields. "Components" is a system field, but you've said your data is in "Associated project components", so you should be reporting on that, not components.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Just to make sure it's clear, the problem I'm having is that when issues are created and associated with specific Components the "Issues" counters aren't incrementing on this project's "Components" page. This is shown below:
How do I get my "Associated Project Component" field to correctly update the field that the above Issues field reads from?

Ok, you are definitely using two different fields. You are putting data into a custom field called "associated project component" and expecting it to appear in a totally different field.
If you want the components to add up, put the data in the components field.

Ok, yes this is definitely the case. Thank you all for you both for your help. I appreciate it!
