Issues dropdown stopped working

Hi we are running jira 6.0.3, I have 1 user having a problem where he clicks on the "issues" drop down and nothing happens, this was working fine yesterday. This happens on different browsers and different hardware platforms. He said that he switched to the issue navigator for a few minutes then back to the dashboard view. Since then the "Issues" drop down in tool bar doesn't work, you click and nothing happens.

It is mostly because he executed a query which resulted in error. What happens if he click on an existing filter that works? And then go back to dashboard and try again?
