Issue type missing when creating issue from Advanced roadmap

jakob dall August 30, 2023

When creating issues from my advanced roadmap view, I'm only able to create the following types:

Initiative, epic, story

However, the board it is linked to also contains both 'Task' and 'Subtask' issue types.
These show up on the roadmap just fine, I just cant create them from there

Is there something I am missing to enable this?

Hi @jakob dall ~ do you have a filter applied in your hierarchy?  i.e. Epic to Story?  You won't be able to create an issue if that hierarchy is filtered above the level you want to create an issue in.  Are there other filters applied in your Plan that may be contributing?

No, I have no filters active. And I'm showing all issues from Initiative to Sub-Task

Hi @Laurie Sciutti
Any ideas on this? My team would love to use the roadmap to refine and add tasks

Hi @jakob dall ~ try this:  Click Create Issue > select Story and to the left of where you enter the Summary, you should see the issue type icon with a drop-down (see below).  Click that and you should see the Task option (provided there is nothing else preventing this from being visible).  I tried this and it worked for me....

As for sub-task, that needs to be created from clicking the 3 ellipses next to the parent (see below).
