Hi all,

On the Jira Work Management pricing page at the section about Admin Controls, states that Issue-level security is included at the free plan.

Description is: "Safe for every type of sensitive work, lock down issues so only specific users or user groups can see and edit information."

https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/work-management/pricing

Is there a way to use Issue-level security on free tier ?

Or is this a misleading typo error on the pricing comparison ?

Hi @Angelos Fragkopoulos and welcome to the Community!

The documentation (see this support article) clearly indicates that issue security is indeed not available on any free plan. I think you made a correct observation about the pricing pages there - thx for calling that out.

I shall pass this on to Atlassian support!

Dear Walter,

The issue is that based on the presentation of features of the official product (https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/work-management/pricing), we proceeded with the setup of various projects and workflows with the key-driver that we will be able to use Issue-level security based on what is advertised.

Basic Issue-level security is essential to even the simplest workflows. We have spent valuable time in order to setup tasks & subtasks workflows and at the final stage of setting what every user access & sees, your answer is that the official published & promoted features are wrong ??

This is not the approach and handling of such issue, we would expect from a reputable software company.

For the record and if you need more info, our instance is https://adcode.atlassian.net.

We can provide any additional info you may require.

Please handle this issue and lets us know.

Kind regards,

Angelos

Hi @Angelos Fragkopoulos,

I am a volunteer on this Community Platform and not an Atlassian employee, so can't speak on behalf of the company.

The official support documentation I linked in my previous answer is very clear about this. And even on the pricing page, just below the issue security under advanced permissions is a clear statement that setting project or issue security on the free plan is not available:

Screenshot 2021-11-12 at 08.43.14.pngI have passed your question on as I believe you are right that the information on the pricing page is a bit confusing and was told the team responsible for that page is informed to adjust it.

If you would like to address Atlassian directly, have a look if you can do so through https://support.atlassian.com/contact
