Issue disappears from backlog after changing workflow

Quentin MD December 13, 2024

Hi

I recently updated the workflow of our project to add a couple of new issue status types.

I went upon updating an existing issue's status in the backlog afterwards (to one of the new options).

Problem is: issue then vanished and I can't seem to be able to get it back in.

No filter is currently active on the Backlog page.

Can someone help me understand how I can fix this and get back these issues with the new issue types back in?

Thanks!

Hi Quentin! I suspect you need to map the new statuses to columns. You can do that in the board settings > Columns.

I'm actually having the same problem.  We added new statuses, mapped them correctly to columns, but the issues won't show up in the backlog unless we update an item in the backlog to a different status. Then all tickets show until we refresh the page and they're hidden again.  We've tried clearing cache and opening in a new browser and have the same result.  I'm guessing it's a bug?

Only issues that doesn't have status applied will remain in the backlog.

Try seeking your issues in future or active sprints. Also try to look for them with JQL and the "updated>" keyword. Finding your issues could be the key to understanding what went wrong.

Be sure to update your question with more information in case someone in the future has the same problem.

Hi @Quentin MD

Backlog and or sSprint or Kanban board. use the same filter, based on column assignment of the status an issue will be on the backlog or not.

Just as mentioned by @Lacy Saute
