Issue Types missing from project settings in team managed service desk

Lauren Cabrera September 12, 2023

I'm wanting to create sub-tasks within my team managed service desk project but all of the instructions I can find on this refer to my settings on "Issue Types". There is no "Issue Types" within my settings, only "Request Types". The requests types are all working as expected with their own workflows, etc.

Is there a way to add sub-task to requests types or is there something missing in my settings? I am the administrator of my team project.

Hello @Lauren Cabrera

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

In Team Managed Service Management projects currently there are only Request Types. There are not separate Issue Types as exist in Company Managed JSM projects.

Also, in Team Managed JSM projects it is not currently possible to create a "sub-task" type of Request Type. There is a change request for that to which you can add your vote/comments.

Hi @Lauren Cabrera welcome to the community!

Can you add a subtask issue type by clicking Add request type?

You can also check out this resource to see if it helps.
Hope the above helps!

Add request type opens this dialog, it's purely a request type no form of issue options.

Not sure whether you're using the Cloud or Data Center? Perhaps you can check this doc to see if you're missing something.

I'd also try to find the people who configured these request types. If none of these help, raise a ticket to Atlassian Support

Hope the above helps!
