Issue Collector: Project Mapping

nicola.unternaehrer June 17, 2020

I have embeded the Issue Collector into our company's website. However, the feedback form does go through into Jira but it isn't mapped to the project and I can't allocate the opened ticket to an existing collector. The ticket even doesn't show up in the collector's statistic. Have I missed something in the settings?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Nicola,

The issue collector in Jira is bound to the specific project in which it was created.   In order to create an issue collector, you need to first go into the project settings of any project.  Only there can you define how that issue collector works, and obtain the HTML/javascript code needed to make it work.

It looks like you are not an admin of your Jira site, so perhaps someone else created this issue collector for you and gave you the code itself?  If that is the case, it could explain how you might not have the permissions in Jira to be able to see the issues created by that collector.  That is pretty much the only way I could see that you wouldn't be able to see which collector it came from.

Check out Using the issue collector. It is a helpful reference in regards to how this works.  If you are an admin, then you can go to the  > System in order to be able to see all the existing Issue collectors in Jira. But if you are not, then you might want to reach out to someone in your site who is.

Did you create the issue collector?  Or was it created by another user?

Please let me know.

Andy

Hi Andy,

Thank you for your answer. You are right, I'm not an admin. I contacted our admin and we both can see the ticket but he can't see the ticket in the collector's statistics either . It's our first collector, so I think we check the documentation again to make sure our setup was right.

Kind regards

Nicola
