Is there is a way, while preparing to the sprint to change status to Grooming

When I change a story status from open to product grooming it disappears from the backlog, while still working on the story and applying the user cases I want to be able to change the status to grooming and at the same time the story stays in the sprint backlog accordion.

You would want to map product grooming to the backlog column - board settings > columns
