I have an event-based action configured that is supposed to set the Organization field among other actions on certain conditions. The Action is working mostly, and IS finding the correct issues/cases, I can see from the history. What's not quite working is the set field organizations post-function.
I have selected the field "Organizations (customfield_12100)" and in the value field have the customer's company name (this is based on the summary/reporter, these are system type alerts).
It's not showing up in the log as an error though, just not setting the Org field as expected. Is there perhaps an anonymized ID type field I should be using (like for accountID when setting assignee), instead of just text?
according to the JMWE documentation, you should be able to provide the Organization Name (as defined in JSM). Alternatively, you could pass the organization ID, as documented on that page and on the "Expected Value" help tab of the post function, but then you'd need to find the ID from the org name...
Thanks for the reply. I do see how to get the Org ID in that.
I think I just needed to better organize my post functions - I had one JMWE event-based for the same customer working properly (setting the org, along with other issue fields); and one not. I made them as similar as possible except what NEEDED to differ, and will wait and see how it goes as some fresh issues arrive.
And now I'm seeing I can use a shared event for those post functions that are the same. I mistakenly thought those were only for workflow transitions. Will try THAT instead, to limit the variables in play.
